Where to Ask About a Person or Record
Begin with the McLean County Sheriff’s Office when the arresting agency or booking destination is uncertain. The official Sheriff page lists 135 East 2nd Street, Calhoun, KY 42327, and 270-273-3276. Other directories use the courthouse address at 210 Main Street, so call before mailing or hand delivery. The county directory lists dispatch at 270-273-3551, but no dedicated Sheriff records line was found. Do not treat dispatch as a records desk without confirming the proper route. No current Sheriff office hours were verified.
McLean arrests can be booked regionally. If the Sheriff identifies Daviess, contact Daviess County Detention Center at 3337 Hwy 144, Owensboro, KY 42303, 270-685-8466. If the person went to Muhlenberg, contact Muhlenberg County Detention Center at 108 Court Row, Greenville, KY 42345, 270-338-2263. Neither facility should be described as the automatic destination for every McLean arrest.
- For a booking record or releasable photograph, use the county arrest-record guide to identify the arresting agency and regional booking custodian before sending a specific request.
- For someone believed to have been booked today, check the Sheriff, the identified facility, and Kentucky VINE. Intake and public systems can update at different times.
- For release, transfer, or custody alerts, use Kentucky VINE and confirm the result with the facility shown in the record.
- For a criminal case, amended charge, disposition, or court warrant inquiry, contact the McLean Circuit Court Clerk at 210 E. Main Street, Calhoun, 270-273-3966 or 270-273-5055.
- For a sentenced state prisoner or person under state supervision, use the Kentucky Department of Corrections KOOL offender search. It is not a same-day county booking feed.
- For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. Immigration detention uses the separate ICE Online Detainee Locator.
- For immediate danger or an emergency, call 911 rather than any records or public-information number.
